The paper substantiates the importance of using method mental maps in teaching. main provisions theory are described. seeks to investigate attitudes towards graduate students at pedagogical universities. Using resulting data, aims formulate methodological recommendations that would help develop their ability build maps. also reveals a contradiction between high level theoretical knowledge about among and low formation practical skills
